About Heart Daka

Heart Daka’s purpose is to heal old wounds. If you’ve grown up in a typical Western social environment it is probable that you were brought up with a lot of sexual woundedness and shame. Sometimes sexual or physical abuse can traumatically increase this sense of shame or fear of intimate contact. Sometimes the every day experiences of being in relationship can lead to wounding, especially if it connects with older, deeper wounds from childhood. Some of this wounding can come from simply not being honoured by our fathers or mothers. This wounding can often play out in many ways:

• In relationships
• Sexual preferences
• Loss of libido
• Disconnection from your body during sex
• Saying “yes” when you really mean “no”
• Challenges around achieving orgasm

Much of this woundedness and shame is stored in the body and it can be released through mindful, gentle contact with another person in a safe and boundaried space.
